This design offers the benefits of either installing a street kit configuration (keeping the filter in the engine compartment) or a competition kit configuration (either a fender well or low mounted air filter). It should be known that while the competition cold air intake configuration is for optimal performance it also has a greater risk of hydro-lock (water intake). These cold air intake kits are easily converted back and forth.
