Their high flow cotton gauze air filter is washable, reusable and built to last for the life of an engine. The filters consist of four to six sheets of cotton gauze layered between two sheets of aluminum wire mesh then pleated and oiled to enhance its filtering capabilities and overall performance to allow considerably more air into an engine. These kits work with OE computers and emissions control systems and meets California Air Resource Board (C.A.R.B) standards.
K&N performance cold air intake kits are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they smooth and straighten airflow. K&N offers several different types of cold air intakes. The FIPK (Fuel Injection Performance Kit), The 77 series high flow cold air intake kit, and the typhoon cold air intake.

Fuel Injection Performance Kits - The FIPK was designed to promote performance in fuel injected stock engines by creating air filtration with the least resistance in airflow. The FIPK combines a precision high flow K&N air filter element with other necessary components, depending on the specific application.
The Generation II cold air intake kits are yet another development in cold air intake technology. They consistently attain incredible horsepower gains even under varying atmospheric conditions. This process is accomplished by installing an entirely new cold air intake system that isolates the cold air that gets directed through a unique chamber delivery system. This process may or may not include a heat shield.
77 Series High Flow cold air intake – This kit is built for truck and SUV applications following the great design of the FIPK cold air intakes. It is important to note that some cold air intakes will not fit on vehicles with lift kits.
Typhoon - The Typhoon cold air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent, aluminum tube induction system designed to provide cooler, denser air to the engine.
